There is a vast choice of wedding venues in the Tekapo area and we only mention the popular ones.
Being a small community, the village facilities are flexible. Think of an idea for your special day and have it come true in Tekapo.

Church weddings
Naturally the Church of the Good Shepherd on the shores of Lake Tekapo has captured the hearts of brides and grooms all over the world.
The church is located only metres from the teal blue waters of the lake and provides spectacular views that are remembered by visitors for the rest of their lives.
The church's interior matches its natural surroundings with its traditional wooden pews, exposed ceiling beams and a large window behind the altar that provides romantic views of the lake and mountains beyond.

Only ministers of religion can perform wedding services in the church.
Due to an overwelming demand, wedding days are restricted to Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Couples must take part in an online pre-wedding course.
